The main shrine was originally built by Iemitsu Tokugawa, the third general of the Edo shogunate in 1649, and was rebuilt in 1958. Statues of Buddha such as "Sho-Kanzeon-Bosatsu (Avalokitesvara-bodhisattva)", the principal image of Buddha, and "Maedate-Honzon" are enshrined. Please visit and pray in front of the statue of Kannon (Boddhisattva) with feeling of gratitude. You can also draw an Omikuji (a fortune) which is said to come true at the Osatsu-Dokoro (where you can draw an Omikuji). If you draw "Kyo (curse)", you should tie it at the designated place and pray for your good luck again to Kannon.
