Announcing the 6th Annual Kinugawa Hot Springs Cherry Blossom Festival
Springtime at Kinugawa area brings beautiful cherry blossoms that brighten up the already-magnificent scenery of the river and the rocky gorge through which it flows. The most breathtaking of Kinugawa's cherry trees are the approximately 100 Yoshino cherry trees (Prunus × yedoensis) that line a 300-meter stretch of road in front of the Kinugawa Onsen rail station. To celebrate this natural wonder, the 6th Annual Kinugawa Hot Springs Cherry Blossom Festival will be held to coincide with the blooming of these famous Yoshino cherry trees. If you have never been to Kinugawa in the springtime, come treat yourself to the wonders that await.
Date: April 19 and 20 (Saturday and Sunday), 2008
Place: Sakura-namiki Park (cherry tree park) in front of Kinugawa Onsen Station, next to Hotel New Okabe
Admission: Free

Events: Song performances, free hot spring manju (steamed bean cakes), karaoke contest, Yosakoi song and dance parade, auditions for Tochigi Television's "Uta no Osama" (King of Song).
