When visiting Kinugawa, a tour of the Five Famous Bridges is a must. Each bridge offers its own uniquely stunning view of the Kinu River. The rows of traditional inns (ryokan) situated on the river's edge create a rich atmosphere of old Japan.

The Five-Bridge Tour is a walking tour where you can enjoy the sights of the emerald-green Kinu River. Standing Rock Bridge offers a view of majestic boulders. Hot Spring Bridge is a pedestrian-only bridge looking down on rows of riverside hot spring resorts, while Steel Bridge is located near the old Kinu River Hot Spring train station. Takimi-bashi Bridge is an old-style suspension bridge, and the Kinu Stone Bridge marks the farthest upstream point of the hot spring resort area. The view at each bridge is unique and rich in old-style atmosphere.
The streets lined with traditional inns along the river's edge are perfect for a walking tour of old Japanese scenery.

With more and more foreign tourists coming to the area, Kinugawa Onsen (Hot Spring) Station has plenty of signs in English, and the station agents, although not always fluent in English, are helpful and kind and will use gestures and otherwise do their utmost to provide whatever help they can. If you need help finding your way, please don't hesitate to ask.
