SPACIA's cabins are roomy and designed for a smooth, stable ride. In fact, the train's biggest selling point is, as its name suggests, its roominess. The relaxingly luxurious cabins include private rooms, for an intimate ride. The track itself also features long rails, for less vibration and enhanced comfort.
In 1991, SPACIA railcars were chosen by the Japan Railfan Club as the best in Japan and awarded a blue ribbon. SPACIA continues to be popular with rail fans and many other riders.
In addition to the pass, a special express ticket is required to ride the Special Express SPACIA. The special express service is available at a 20% discount for passengers who have purchased train passes.
