1590, Azuchi Momoyama Period
This shrine has halls that enshrine the gods of fortune and match-making and, in addition, the grounds are devised so that children and adults alike can enjoy themselves with a “foot-stomping-for-health path” and a “try-your-luck game of quoit.”
Along both sides of the approach are “foot-stomping-for-health paths.” You can hear people crying “Ouch!” as they walk the paths with their shoes off.
It is said that if you wash your money in this treasury pond and remain virtuous with a purified body and mind, you will acquire greater wealth.
After you worship at Kayuinari Shrine, you can try your luck at a game of quoit. You will have three quoits to throw each time, which you aim at targets that will either give you luck in love, success in work, good health, wealth or other wishes.
