Trains running on 100% renewable energy in the Nikko/Kinugawa area
To achieve carbon neutrality, we will use menus that utilize FIT non-fossil certificates. Limited Express Train operating in Asakusa-Nikko/Kinugawa area, trains operating Shimo-imaichi Tobu-nikko and Tobu-nikko on the Tobu Nikko Line, and between Shimo-imaichi and Shin-Fujiwara on the Tobu Kinugawa Line (total 23.3 km), stations and facilities in the area, etc. The equivalent amount of electricity used in this process is replaced with electricity that produces virtually zero CO2 emissions. We are also actively incorporating the environmental value of solar power generation in areas along our railway lines, contributing to regional decarbonization.

The Nikko/Kinugawa area is a national park that aims to achieve a low-carbon and circular environment in the Nikko National Park Step Up Program 2025, which was put together by a regional council whose members include Tochigi Prefecture, Tobu Railway, and the Kanto Regional Environmental Office of the Ministry of the Environment. The park is said to be promoting zero-emission efforts as a park. Toward the realization of an eco-resort, not only Tobu Railway but also the entire region is working to create an area that is kind to nature and does not place any burden on the environment.
