Ouchijuku flourished as a post town during the Edo period. Its streets lined with thatched roof houses continues to emenate the atmosphere of a town from the Edo period. In autumn, wonderful views with its beautiful autumn foilage can be enjoyed. The best time to enjoy the foliage is usually in mid-October. Ouchijuku is also famous for negi soba (buckwheat noodles served with leek). Be sure to taste it when visiting there.
