Ouchijuku is located in Minamiaizu in Fukushima. During Japan’s Edo Era, it prospered as an important road post town that connected Aizuwakamatsu and Nikko Imaichi. Its elegant townscape charms visitors, and it’s quite popular as a tourist spot! Throughout the year you can enjoy the scenery in all four seasons! On the second Saturday and Sunday of February every year the Ouchijuku Snow Festival is held for 2 days. The festival has the best dango decorating event in Japan as well as various events including a soba eating contest! Don’t miss the impressive fireworks being shot up into the clear winter sky!
