The Tsudo Substation is one important facility that conveys the history of the Ashio Copper Mine to the present day. From the mid-Taisho period, it functioned as the core facility managing the supply of electricity in the mine. The Tsudo Substation was located near the Ashio Copper Mine office, and is the only substation in operation among the facilities at the Ashio Copper Mine which are no longer in use or were demolished. It is an important facility that tells the history of expanded facilities and changes in response to increased demand for electricity. *Only the exterior area can be visited. The inside of the building and the premises cannot be visited.
