The Former Yasuda Gardens are a strolling-style daimyo garden with a tidal pond constructed during Japan’s Edo Era. They’re located in Yokoami in Sumida Ward, Tokyo. An arch bridge and lanterns are arranged around the pond, forming an urban oasis with a beautiful balance of summer greenery and water. Admission is free, and the gardens can be accessed in a 20 minute walk from Asakusa Station. Located an around 15 minute walk from Kaminarimon Gate and around 10 minutes from Sensoji Temple, it’s an excellent place to visit while taking a stroll. Nearby you can also enjoy tourist spots such as Tokyo Skytree and Ryogoku Kokugikan. Forget the bustle of the city and enjoy a moment surrounded by greenery and water.
