The ancient Hotoku-ji Temple is located in Kiryu City in Gunma. From July 22 (Sat.) to September 18 (Mon.) the yearly summer Windchime Festival will be held here. The cool sounds of the many wind chimes hung up spread throughout the temple grounds. Worshippers write their wishes on strips of paper, and make their prayers while going through the wind chime tunnel. In addition, Summer Floor Maple Special Exhibition is held here at the same time – an event that lets you see green maple leaves reflected on the floors of the main temple. This sight lets you enjoy the magical scenery along with the unique temple atmosphere. Enjoy calming moments with these events.
