The Kanuma Autumn Festival is held every year in Kanuma City in Tochigi for 2 days on the 2nd Saturday and Sunday of October. This traditional autumn festival is also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Along the annual festival of Imamiya Shrine, 26 gorgeous decorative floats march through the city. These floats show visitors both artisan skill passed down from the Edo Era and the magnificent appearance called the "moving Yomeimon Gate". The cultural scenery, including the splendor of the decorative floats passed down for around 400 years, and the force of the accompanying music, is a precious experience that lets overseas visitors directly feel the traditional beauty of Japan.
