Shinkyo is a vermilion wooden bridge that spans the entrance to Nikko’s shrines and temples – a World Heritage in Nikko, Tochigi. From old times this bridge has been used as a sacred approach to these shrines and temples. Surrounded by rich nature, the snow winter scenery creates an amazing sight with the red bridge reflected in the silver snow. Shinkyo is a must visit when you visit Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Rinnoji Temple. Shinkyo can be accessed by a 7-minute bus ride from Tobu-Nikko Station on the Tobu Nikko Line, and is a short walk from the bus stop.
