Senjogahara covers a vast amount of land in the Nikko National Park in northern Tochigi. It is a high marsh area around 1,390 - 1,400 meters in altitude and around 400 hectares. Senjogahara in winter has appealing scenery unique to the rich nature of Nikko, with its vast wetlands covered in snow. The contrast between the rising mountains beyond the white snowy plains and the coniferous trees is truly beautiful, and the sight of them being surrounded by the cool winter air is magical.
