Lake Teganuma

  • Other Destinations

Lake Teganuma spans Abiko and Kashiwa cities in Chiba. It is well known for the large number of tundra swans that fly in to make it through the winter. Until around March each year, their white wings can be seen spread across the surface of the water and the surrounding countryside, creating scenery that represents the natural winter landscape. Early mornings and evenings let you observe flocks of these birds taking flight together or floating calmly on the water’s surface, making this area popular for birdwatching and for taking pictures. Visit Teganuma in winter to feel the quiet workings of nature.
