Tsuruga Castle Park is located in Aizuwakamatsu City in Fukushima. It's one of Japan’s famous cherry blossom viewing spots. About 1,000 cherry trees, mainly Somei Yoshino, are planted throughout the park, and when they are in full bloom the blossoms spread out as if surrounding the castle. The combination of the castle’s red-tiled tower and the cherry blossoms creates a beautiful spring scene that can only be found in Aizu, attracting many visitors who come to take photos. During the cherry blossom season, the trees are also illuminated at night, letting you enjoy a magical nighttime view of the blossoms that's very different from during the day.
