Located across four prefectures - Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama, and Ibaraki, Watarase Retarding Basin is one of Japan's largest flood control basins. With its vast reed beds and wetlands, and home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, it was registered as a Ramsar Convention wetland in 2012. Visitors can explore well-maintained walking trails and cycling routes while immersing themselves in the serenity of the great outdoors. The heart-shaped Yanaka Lake and other large-scale landscapes that can only be seen here are also major attractions.
