The Kawagoe Festival is one of the most prominent traditional festivals held in the Kanto region.
This tradition, designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan, has been protected and upheld for 370 years, and is beloved by the people. Also in 2016, it was registered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The festival is held during the day and night, and both are must-see events.
