The World’s Famous Katsushika Hokusai was born in Sumida and spent his life spanning 90 years in Sumida Ward.
Hokusai Festival is held every year in Sumida Ward, which has a strong connection to Hokusai.
You can enjoy workshops and grand neputa(large fan-shaped floats depicting epic and fantastic images of warriors) portable shrines.
