This time, we introduce Ouchijuku in Minami-Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture. This town flourished as a post town connecting Aizu and Nikko during the Edo Period (1603-1868). Today, there are still traces of the old days, such as houses with unique thatched roofs made of silver grass, standing side by side. Ouchijuku is also famous for its "negi soba (buckwheat noodles with green onion)." Normally chopsticks are used to eat buckwheat noodles, but a long stalk green onion is used to eat this negi soba. Please give it a try when visiting the Aizu area!
