Nikko-Shiranesan is located on the border between Tochigi and Gunma prefectures. This mountain is 2,578 meters above sea level, but there is a ropeway which takes you up to 2,000 meters, where you can start your climb. Thanks to their well-maintained trails, the round trip takes only five to six hours. This mountain is not only for experienced climbers, but also for beginners and families to enjoy climbing there with confidence. While climbing, you can also enjoy the wonderful scenery of the surrounding mountains and lakes. At Ropeway Sancho Station at the top of the ropeway, there is a café and footbath where you can relax and enjoy the scenery while resting. This spot is highly recommended!
