Tsuruga-jo Castle is a symbol of Aizuwakamatsu City. You can enjoy the beautiful seasonal scenery there, such as cherry blossoms in spring and red leaves in autumn. In winter, enjoy a pure white appearence of the castle with its roofs covered with snow. The inside of the castle is a local museum, where you can learn about the history of Aizu from the various historical materials displayed. This castle is also lit up at night differently during each of the four seasons. To visit Tsuruga-jo Castle, take the red-colored Aizu Railway train and get off at Nishiwakamatsu Station. The winter scenery from the train is also very exquisite. The "YUTTARI (relaxing) AIZU TOBU FREE PASS" is highly recommended for sightseeing in Aizu.
