Mt. Nantai, located in the Oku-Nikko Area of Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture, is a mountain that is representative of the Nikko mountain range at 2,486 meters above sea level.
Mt. Nantai itself has become an object of worship, and at its top is Nikko Futarasan-jinja Shrine's Okumiya (rear shrine).
Climbing this mountain can be enjoyed from May to October. It takes approx. 8 hours to go to the top and back from the trailhead at the Chugushi of Nikko Futarasan-jinja Shrine, by Lake Chuzenji. From the top you can enjoy the wide views of Oku-Nikko's nature.
Oku-Nikko also has many accommodations where you can enjoy the hot spring water from Yumoto-Onsen.
