Akechidaira Ropeway

Akechidaira is located on top of the Nikko Daini Irohazaka Route. From there, visitors can take a ropeway up to an observation deck where they can enjoy a breathtaking view of Kegon Falls, Lake Chuzenji, and Mt. Nantaisan.
This is one of the most beautiful spots in Nikko, and it is only from there that visitors can enjoy a range of seasonal views: Rhododendron flowers in spring, fresh green at the beginning of summer, deep greens in the middle of summer, beautifully colorful leaves in autumn, and fields covered with snow under the blue sky in winter.

Among ropeways currently operating in Japan, Akechidaira Ropeway is the 2nd oldest, starting operation in 1933, following Yoshino Ropeway in Nara prefecture.

From Akechidaira Ropeway Observation Deck, visitors can enjoy a range of beautiful views that change with the seasons.
